I’m Jung-Hoon Han, an assistant professor of management at SKK Graduate School of Business, Sungkyunkwan University. Prior to joining SKK GSB, I was at the Trulaske College of Business of the University of Missouri. I earned a doctorate in management from the Pennsylvania State University.
My research centers around how audiences’ perception of an actor—be it an individual or an organization—shapes the actor’s behavior and outcome. We often come to realize that how people perceive a person or a firm matters as much as, or perhaps even more than, what the person or the firm actually does. This observation has led me to delve into the social evaluations literature and study the influence of status, reputation, and celebrity on an actor’s behavior and outcome. Specifically, I have worked on applying the social evaluations perspective to a wide variety of contexts including organizational misconduct, entrepreneurial market, corporate governance, and cultural industries.
My research has been published in Academy of Management Annals, Academy of Management Journal, Research in the Sociology of Organizations, and Strategic Management Journal. For more information, please refer to my CV (download), ResearchGate page (link), and Google Scholar profile (link).
